FAQs

HOW IS KRAV MAGA FOR KIDS DIFFERENT FROM MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES?

Unlike traditional martial arts that tends to be highly stylised, Krav Maga is a self-defence system that incorporates every possible self-defence situation. From how to prevent or de-escalate a situation, to multiple attackers and ground fighting, Krav Maga encapsulates the fundamentals of boxing, wrestling, MMA and kickboxing.

HOW WILL KRAV MAGA HELP MY CHILD AGAINST BULLYING?

At Krav Maga London Kids, students learn how to deal with bullies and bully-type situations by being immersed in real-life situations through role-play.

We always emphasise the different stages of how to handle the situation through prevention, de-escalation and where absolutely necessary, the solution. Students are taught techniques that use only necessary and proportionate force to stop the bully from hurting them.

HOW WILL KRAV MAGA PREPARE MY CHILD AGAINST ADULT ASSAILANTS?

When it comes to a child facing an adult that is attempting to abduct them or attack them, we have a ‘no rules’ policy. Children learn to shout, strike and kick as hard as possible in vulnerable areas, to run away to safety. Emphasis is always placed on only using this method against adult assailants.

DO YOU TEACH CHILDREN HOW TO DEAL WITH KNIFE CRIME?

Unfortunately as the level of knife crime increases, the ages of which children are involved decreases.
For our more advanced and older students, we teach how to deal with knife type-object threats and how to use common objects against these situations.

HOW MUCH IS TUITION AND HOW IS IT CHARGED?

If you would like to enrol your child after your child's trial programme, tuition is paid monthly via direct debit on a monthly rolling basis.
Tuition is £45 per month and payment is made via GoCardless.

HOW IS MY CHILD'S PROGRESS TRACKED?

Termly Reports

What makes us different at Krav Maga London Kids from any other Krav Maga club is at the end of each term, you will receive a report on how your child is progressing. The report will include what your child is doing well in and what they need to improve. This is to help your child set clear targets whilst feeling a sense of achievement.

Grading

We don’t like belts. We also don’t like exams. We do however like to give students challenges through our KMG grading system.

We have two gradings per academic year as an opportunity for students to put their skills to the test, see for themselves what they have learnt and to develop their physical and mental resilience.

DO YOU RUN CLASSES OVER THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?

Classes run every week except during the major school holidays and when the instructors are away for training.
We are closed for two weeks in Easter and Christmas, whole of August and any bank holidays.
Parents will be notified well in advance of these breaks and during this time you will not be charged for the classes.
